Every name has some explanation. So does the name of this blog. It has something to do with floodlit gantries, sparkling champagne, blue overalls and mutinous mice. The rest is up to you. As for me, my sole/soul task will be to try to smell out the meaning of my life in these pages. Which is just another way of saying that this is yet another fruitless exercise.

Blast from the past

My mom bought me an old trunk. Inside of it, there were newspapers dated May 1st, 1951. Please go easy on me. - Imgur:

About Me

My photo
somdeb
I used to do physics at The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai, India. I am taking a bit of an enforced break from that part of my life now. Blogging is something that helps me keep a hold on to reality. I try and stay away from current politics and issues that are controversial and often tend to end up in virtual shouting matches. Instead, my aim here is to talk about eclectic subjects that interest me and hopefully will interest the readers of this blog. I write fiction occasionally. I tweet more or less regularly @somdeb, though such tweets are rarely personal in nature, and more or less might have warranted a full 1:34 am post had I the inclination or the impetus to do so.
